Read the fee before agreeing

There are no appointments here; this guide neither sees people for care nor issues prescriptions.

When a page shows a fee, ask what it buys. Is it the conversation, ongoing access to a service, a medicine or a package of several things? Write the parts down before comparing the total with another offer.

In advertisements for online weight care recorded September 26, 2026, continuing membership and medicine were usually billed separately. The sample was small.

Those dated examples put visits paid without insurance at $38 to $129 each. Standard memberships billed month by month were advertised at $19.99 to $149 a month; medicine was a separate cost. These are historical advertisements from September 26, 2026, not a price available today or a full estimate for your care.

That sample describes advertised fees, not a current quote for your care.

Visit fee and membership

Use “visit fee” for the cost of a conversation and “membership” for a continuing charge. Ask the service to say which kind it offers. Keep its answer next to the length of any commitment.

  • Ask whether a decision against prescribing changes what the visit costs.
  • Ask whether later conversations are included or billed separately.
  • Ask how cancellation works and when recurring charges stop.
  • Ask whether an advertised opening offer changes later.

The most useful quote is one you can read again. Ask for the ordinary charge after an opening offer, the billing interval and the rules for leaving. There is no need to calculate a total from a headline that leaves those parts blank.

Medicine price

List price means the amount published by the maker. Self-pay names a route outside insurance, paid by the person receiving the medicine.

An insured copay is the part left for the person whose plan is paying toward the medicine.

Those are different kinds of price. Ask which one appears in the quote, and keep the product name and form with it. Comparing a package with a medicine-only figure leaves part of the bill out of view.

For the manufacturer self-pay offers checked on September 26, 2026, spending was outside insurance and did not count toward a deductible.

With a deductible, the plan sets an amount to be paid first before the relevant coverage payments begin.

  • Ask how much medicine the quoted amount covers, without assuming “monthly” means the same thing in every offer.
  • Ask whether shipping, tests or later visits add to the bill.

Coverage and prior authorization

Look for “formulary” when you need the plan’s covered-drug list.

Prior authorization means asking the plan about payment before the pharmacy supplies the medicine.

Medicare Part D is prescription-drug coverage. As of November 3, 2026, it can consider covering these medicines for certain uses other than weight loss, such as treating type 2 diabetes. Another example concerns adults with heart disease who also have overweight or obesity: lowering the chance of heart-related death, a stroke or a heart attack. These are uses Medicare’s rules recognize; your own plan still has to make a payment decision for the medicine.

For those uses, the plan’s drug list and prior authorization still affect coverage.

Name the product and proposed use when asking the plan about coverage. Ask separately whether the service accepts insurance and whether the plan will pay toward this bill. Ask the visit service and the plan to identify what each answer covers.

  • Ask who sends any required paperwork to the plan.
  • Ask what you would owe while a coverage decision is pending.
  • Ask what the alternatives are if the plan declines payment.

Keep the quote together

Keep the dated quote, its terms and your question list in the same place. If the proposed product changes, ask for a new quote rather than assuming the earlier total still applies.

Use a blank sheet to separate the visit, continuing service, medicine and any other proposed charges. Leave an unanswered part blank and ask about it. A written “not included” can be as useful as a price.

Keep the answers from the people quoting the charges alongside the answers from your plan.
